This early 20th Century antique five-stone ring has been reworked to hold two bright blue sapphires and 3 CZ (cubic zirconia) stones. The ring is 18K gold and has hallmarks for Birmingham, 1919. This ring has had the band replaced, but it was done by a highly skilled jeweler and cannot be noticed by the untrained eye. The ring is in beautiful condition. The Sapphires have minimal abrasions, chips, and slight wear typical of an item this age. The reason this ring is priced so well, even though it is 18K gold and contains natural untreated sapphires is that it has CZ instead of diamonds. CZ is a diamond simulant and is far more economical. That being said, if you have been searching for a unique antique ring with a whole lot of history, but at a great price, this is it. Total weight 3.4gms.
